IMOSS MISSION STATEMENT

IMOSS, an acronym for IMproving Our Sadhu Sanga, is a preaching initiative targeting existing devotees.

 

WE ADVOCATE FOR IMPROVING OUR SADHU SANGA ….

 

….TO HELP DEVOTEES DEVELOP THEIR SPIRITUAL LIVES

  1. “Boiling the milk” is crucial for our movement.
  2. Sastra discussion Is integral to good sadhu sanga, and essential for our spiritual success.
  3. This is how devotees can become happy.
  4. It is dangerous for our movement to neglect sastra discussion.
  5. There should be no rank-pulling in sastra discussion.
  6. Devotees should be trained to think for themselves through the eyes of scripture.

 

…TO HELP ESTABLISH SRILA PRABHUPADA AS THE PRE-EMINENT SIKSA GURU IN ISKCON.

  1. It is essential to associate with a devotee of Srila Prabhupada’s calibre.
  2. Srila Prabhupada is a ‘living bhagavata’.
  3. Srila Prabhupada instructed us to associate with him via his vani.

 

…TO PROMOTE PERSONAL & INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY

  1. Authenticity and integrity among devotees is essential; not pretense and imitation.
  2. This is an ‘inside-out’ approach to preaching and managing ISKCON projects.
  3. IMOSS is an effective way to achieve individual and institutional integrity.
  4. We advocate for siksha and diksha relationships to evolve naturally from engaging in sadhu-sanga.

 

TO ACHIEVE THE ABOVE WE OFFER EVIDENCE-BASED TRAINING & SUPPORT

  1. We teach the culture of sadhu sanga based upon Srila Prabhupada’s instructions.
  2. We are developing a network of devotees who are personally benefitting from applying the IMOSS principles in regular sastra discussion, and who are ready to share their experience, train and coach other devotees to do likewise.
  3. We train IMOSS helpers to assist others respectfully, lovingly and in a service mood.
